The Idaho Civil War 150th Commission and the Oregon Civil War Sesquicentennial (both founded by K.C.Piccard) honored the passing of the 225 victims of the SS Brother Jonathan tragedy with a special program at its July 30 meeting held in downtown Boise Idaho starting at 6:30 pm.

The story of the Brother Jonathan shipwreck off the Northern California coast was read by Frank Krone  from the National Park Service successful request for placement of Brother Jonathan's wreck on 2002's National Register of Historic Places.

A solemn poem was read, and then a ship's bell was tolled 225 times while the names of the shipwreck victims were read from the official list located at the California state website for shipwrecks at Rest in peace, you are not forgotten!
